As Superintendent of Schools at the Community School Corporation of Southern Hancock County, I am proud to share just a few of the many reasons our schools are a great place to learn.
  • Southern Hancock School Corporation and New Palestine High School were recently awarded the letter grade of “A” from the Indiana Department of Education.

  • Southern Hancock Schools received state recognition for our High Ability identification and programs available to our students.

  • Southern Hancock Schools offers excellent academic, practical, vocational, fine arts, and athletic programs.

  • Southern Hancock Schools were recognized for their quality in the September 2011 issue of the Indianapolis Monthly magazine.

  • Southern Hancock Schools during tough economic times has been fiscally responsible without cutting programs for students. The district’s expenditure remains consistently well below the state average.

  • Southern Hancock Schools received a grant from the Indiana Department of Education to expand our 1:1 technology initiative in grades 7-12.

  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded all Southern Hancock Schools the Energy Star Award.

  • New Palestine High School averages a 95% graduation rate – one of the highest in the state.
 
  • The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has identified New Palestine High School as one of the “Best Buys” in Indiana every year for more than a decade.

  • New Palestine High School received recognition for its Advanced Placement Programs from the Indiana Department of Education as being one of Indiana’s Top 20 High Schools.
